Kosovo's caretaker Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure announced that it is continuing to implement strategic projects aimed at strengthening connectivity among citizens and creating conditions for sustainable economic development, stating that construction of the third bridge over the Ibar River, linking South and North Mitrovica, is progressing according to schedule.

"Construction works on the third bridge over the Ibar River are proceeding as planned, creating a new connection between the northern and southern parts of Mitrovica, with a direct impact on the movement of citizens, traffic flow, and economic development on both sides of the river," the Ministry said in a statement.

The statement added that, through infrastructure investments, the Ministry is contributing to the development of a more interconnected and functional Kosovo, offering greater opportunities for economic growth and development for all citizens.

"We remain committed to delivering concrete results in the service of the Republic of Kosovo," the statement said.

At the beginning of July last year, the Kosovo Government launched the construction of two bridges over the Ibar River. The first was opened in August, while the second was inaugurated in December.
