Jevtic: Through arrests, Kurti is sowing fear with the aim of expelling the Serbian people from Kosovo
Deputy President of the Serb List, Dalibor Jevtic, assessed that the arrest of several Serbs this morning on charges of alleged war crimes is part of a policy pursued by the current authorities in Pristina aimed at intimidating Serbs and forcing them to leave Kosovo. He stressed that the families of those arrested will not be left without support and assistance, Euronews reports.
Speaking to Pink TV, Jevtic said that he personally knows most of those arrested and their families, emphasizing that they are honorable and honest people, Euronews reports.
“What I can say is that these families will not be left alone. I am certain that, first and foremost, our state, but also all of us, will stand by these families and provide every form of assistance, both legal and otherwise, in order to send a message to those in Pristina who seek to spread fear that they will not succeed in doing so,” Jevtic stated.
Earlier today, the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Pristina announced that five individuals had been arrested in an operation carried out by the Kosovo Police in cooperation with the prosecution as part of the investigation in the case known as “Racak II,” which concerns suspicions of the commission of alleged war crimes against the civilian population.
The Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that the Kosovo Police under Albin Kurti, by arresting several Kosovo Serbs this morning on charges of alleged war crimes, is continuing a policy of terror and retaliation against the Serbian people.
The Serb List stated that the unfounded arrests of Serbs are intended to create an atmosphere of fear, insecurity, and additional pressure on the Serbian people who have remained living in their ancestral homes in Kosovo.
