Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said that, thanks to Serbia, the number of illegal migrants detected at the border dropped significantly during November, RTV reports.

Karner said that the reason for the decrease in the number of migrants caught in Austria is Serbia's decision to abolish the visa-free regime for citizens of Tunisia.

Also, the Indians, who were the largest group of detected irregular migrants during the summer, will soon, as the Austrian minister has said, have to apply for a visa to enter Serbia.

Karner stated that the number of detected migrants is now below 200 per day.

At the beginning of November, that number was around 700 per day.

When it comes to requests for asylum, the situation is similar and the number of requests is decreasing.
