Kelmendi: Kosovo stagnates in all fields; CSM to be formed based on 2013 Agreement
Professor Muhamet Kelmendi says that the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, is saying what everyone wants to hear, and that in fact Kosovo has stagnated in all fields, reports Gazeta Blic.
Kelmendi reacted after Kurti's statement today during the meeting of the General Assembly of Self-Determination that "other countries cannot even dream of his results", and stated that there is no employment, improvement of working conditions, that young people are emigrating en masse, and that in addition to all this, he gives misery to the children and elderly in the form of alms.
"The views expressed by Kurti about the achievements in Kosovo remain wishful thinking. In relation to these 'achievements', it is necessary to look at the matter in two directions, internal affairs and the position of Kosovo in relation to states and international mechanisms. The desire exists, but in the country the necessary development results are missing. We do not have the expected employment and improvement of working conditions and payment, although there are also restrictions on the right to work. Mass emigration continues, Kosovo is emptying. We do not have a de jure construction of the court and prosecution system. We do not have health or pension and family insurance. Social insurance is 100 euros per month, and the pension is 100 euros. Children and pensioners are given help in the form of alms. Kosovo has failed to take significant steps in the fight against crime and corruption," says Kelmendi.
He adds that there is stagnation even in relation to international mechanisms and that the CSM is being built according to the 2013 Agreement.
"In relation to states and international mechanisms, there is stagnation. We haven't had any new recognition for two years. Kosovo has not yet been recognized by five EU countries. Kosovo has not become a member of any international mechanism, neither in Europe, nor in the world, in the UN. And the CSM is being built according to the 2013 Agreement," said Kelmendi.
