Petkovic: Kurti continues inhumane campaign to politicize issue of missing persons

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said that caretaker Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was continuing an inhumane campaign to politicize the issue of missing persons and that Pristina had for years refused Belgrade's requests to search eight locations in Kosovo.

"Kurti continues his inhumane campaign to politicize the issue of missing persons, even though it is Pristina that has for years refused to act on Belgrade's requests to search eight locations in Kosovo and Metohija where, according to reliable information, the remains of brutally murdered Serbs are concealed," Petkovic wrote on X.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija recalled that 562 Serbs and other non-Albanians were still listed as missing and that their families had been waiting for 27 years for truth, justice, and dignity for their loved ones.

"Belgrade will never give up searching for them, no matter how hard Kurti and his regime try to conceal the truth," Petkovic stressed.

Kurti said today that the identification of human remains found at locations in Zubin Potok had begun and called on the international community to exert pressure on Serbia to open its archives.
