Vuletic: Pristina will try to relativize the CSM in Brussels; I expect progress on the issue of the missing persons
Sociologist Vladimir Vuletic said that during the meeting in Brussels, as a part of the continuation of the dialogue scheduled for May 2, Pristina would try to relativize the Community of Serbian Municipalities, and added that he expected progress in the field of resolving the fate of missing persons, reports Euronews Serbia.
"I am afraid that what was set up with optimism in Ohrid will not take place in such a way in Brussels," said Vuletic for Tanjug.
He stated that there will be two items on the agenda in Brussels, the CSM has also disappeared.
"I don't expect progress, it will be good if some progress is made in the matter of the missing persons, that would be important and some kind of maximum we can expect from the events on May 2," Vuletic said.
He added that it was not clear to him why Pristina was delaying the formation of the CSM when it was clear that without it there could be no progress in the continuation of the dialogue and the normalization of the relations.
He stated that he expected Pristina to continue opposing the CSM, and emphasized that "It is obvious that Pristina is trying to present the whole matter as a fait accompli, that we are talking about two independent states that have no influence on each other".
According to him, the behavior of Pristina is unreasonable.
"It threatens to introduce us to the situation we had before the end of the year, which does not even respond to the international community," said Vuletic.
He expressed his regret also because, as he assessed, the message of unity sent by the Serbs by boycotting the elections was not fully understood.
"Albanians behave as if they rule the entire north of Kosovo and Metohija, as if everything is normal, which I suspect that they want to instigate a conflict that would lead to the ultimate pressure being applied that would lead to the emigration of Serbs or a conflict that I do not know what could he end up with," he said.
Vuletic added that he assumed that any violence against Serbs could not go without a response from Belgrade, and that this was well known.
Commenting on Pristina's intention to open a bridge on the Ibar, he says that it is something unreasonable and he hopes that it will not come to that, because, as he states, it could lead to harassment and potential conflicts.
He reminded that it was also heard from the EU special representative Miroslav Lajcak that such a proposal is unreasonable.
"If Pristina opens the bridge, it would tell me that perhaps part of the West wishes for a conflict, regardless of the belief that it wants to stabilize relations," said Vuletic and emphasized that the West can still prevent this, but that the attitude towards the opening of the bridge will be a good indicator of how the West refers to the entire region.
Regarding the regular six-month session on Kosovo in the UN Security Council, held three days ago, Vuletic says that the UN Security Council has not been the central place where the most important decisions on Kosovo are made for a long time and that they are made on the Quint-Pristina-Belgrade route.
"The undermining of the authority of the UN Security Council began at the moment when, without a decision of the Security Council, the aggression against the FRY was carried out," Vuletic said and added that the last report on Kosovo was prepared earlier and that no events related to the elections could be found in it.
He added that in this regard, the report highlighted nice words for both sides to reduce tensions, to calm the rhetoric, to move towards certain solutions, but it was not emphasized enough to equally respect the interests of both sides.
"The problem is that it has not been emphasized enough that the continuation of the talks is not possible without the CSM formation," Vuletić said.
He assessed that things started to be relativized already a few days after the meeting in Ohrid by the spokesperson of Pristina.
