Today, members of the Kosovo police armed themselves entered the yard of the Pavlovic family in the village of Beluca in the municipality of Leposavic, with the request that 80-year-old Dimitrije, who was sitting in the yard, remove the national hat from his head, which he refused, his sister-in-law Nadica Pavlovic told for Kosovo Online.

As Nadica stated in the interview for Kosovo Online, at the time of the incident, she had been in the house when she had heard a commotion in the yard.

"I heard a commotion and father-in-law Dimitrije shouting. I went down the stairs, when I ran into two policemen in full gear. They were armed with some short guns. They said that Dimitrije provoked them because he greeted them with a national hat when they were driving by. They demanded that he takes it off," Nadica told us at once.

As she explains, their house is right next to the road and grandfather Dimitrije always greets passing cars, and now a patrol of three policemen in unmarked civilian cars was passing by. They decided to break into the Pavlovic family house because of Dimitrije's national hat.

"I started yelling at them, I told them that now I will also wear a national hat every day. Grandpa is sick, he can't calm down, we were at home, my husband was at work. These policemen are passing by every day, but so far they haven't bothered us. We're now afraid that something like this will happen again, but I really can't believe how far this harassment goes, and that's because someone wears a national hat. I'm going to wear it every day from now on", says Nadica.
