Kurti and Rama to mend their relationship before going to Bled
Connoisseurs of political situations from Kosovo and Albania believe that the two prime ministers, Edi Rama and Albin Kurti, should smooth out relations and return them to a "constructive level" before going to the Bled Strategic Forum, so as not to harm the position and image of the Albanian people in the region and before to international representatives, writes Koha.
After more than two months without meetings, Kurti and Rama will meet at the Bled Forum next week, and analysts point out that it is necessary for the two leaders to show unity.
At this forum, which will be held on August 28 and 29, Kurti and Rama will meet for the first time since the cancellation of the joint meeting of the two governments, about two months ago, after which the Kosovo prime minister refused to meet with his Albanian counterpart during his visits to Kosovo.
University professor Dorajet Imeri does not expect that the Forum in Slovenia will serve to harmonize the views of the two prime ministers.
"Of course, it is important to convey the message that the prime ministers of the two countries are still united, but considering the approach they have chosen towards each other and towards the states, at this moment we cannot have a rapprochement of the foreign policies of the two countries," Imeri said.
Kurti and Rama had "conflicts from a distance" over the "Open Balkans", as well as the tensions that occurred during May in the north of Kosovo.
International relations expert Akri Chipa believes that these two issues have "faded" and that now is the time for the two governments to return relations to a "constructive level".
He emphasizes that Kurti and Rama, when participating in events of an international format, have the responsibility to take into account the role of Albanians in the Western Balkans.
"There is no doubt that there is a great interest in how the political context and the factorization of Albanians in the Balkans is conveyed, and I believe that both prime ministers have the responsibility and ability to be up to the task of doing that," points out Chipa.
Chipa also said that a meeting between Rama and Kurti was necessary before participating in the Forum in Slovenia.
By the way, yesterday, when asked about a possible meeting with Kurti, Rama did not answer the journalists, saying that his relationship with his colleague from Kosovo "is not about telenovelas".
