Kurti and Svecla laid foundation stone for new police substation in the north, "two kilometers from the border with Serbia"
Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti, together with Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla and General Director of the Kosovo Police Gazmend Hoxha, laid the foundation stone this morning for a police substation in northern Kosovo, two kilometers from the border crossing with Serbia.
According to a statement from the Kosovo government, the new substation will be located in the village of Izvor in the municipality of Zvecan, with the project valued at nearly 700,000 euros.
"This new substation, which will provide appropriate working conditions for police officers, will serve the border police tasked with protecting and securing the border and preventing illegal cross-border activities," the statement reads.
It is also noted that on Friday, the foundation stone was laid for a police substation near the bridge over the Bistrica River, and construction of a police facility in Lesak is ongoing, where, as they point out, the foundation stone was laid a month ago.
"All these investments aim to ensure dignified working conditions for our police officers serving in this area and to enhance capacities for securing our country," the statement from the Kosovo government concludes.
