Albin Kurti stated that despite receiving two summonses from the Special Prosecutor's Office, he does not want to respond because the goal is to create a global headline suggesting that the Prime Minister is under questioning in a corruption case, Telegrafi reports.

“This prosecutor, Blerim Isufaj, is orchestrating a scene where I enter the office of the state prosecutor, and then a global headline is produced stating that I am being questioned in a corruption case. It won’t say I was summoned as a witness. That is their goal,” Kurti said to KTV.

He connected his situation with the earlier arrest of Hashim Rexhepi and directly linked the prosecutors to opposition parties.

“They want to do something similar, but softer than what they could have done, like with Hashim Rexhepi, who was taken out of the Central Bank of Kosovo in handcuffs. They have learned from all our ministers. These prosecutors have come to see prime ministers in the past, too. If I tell you I will not go, let’s see if they dare to come,” Kurti said.

The prosecutor’s office has summoned Kurti twice to appear as a witness, but his office stated that he could give his statement at his workplace.
