Loncar: Raid on KBC Kosovska Mitrovica an attempt to cause a humanitarian catastrophe
Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar says that last night’s raid by the Kosovo Police, on the orders of the prime minister in a technical mandate, Albin Kurti, into the Clinical Hospital Center and the Health Center in North Mitrovica, is an attempt to cause a humanitarian catastrophe and represents a red line that Pristina wants to cross
Loncar emphasizes that long guns have no place in Serbian healthcare institutions, where patients of all nationalities are treated without any ethnic discrimination.
“Let me be absolutely clear. The healthcare system in Kosovo and Metohija operates within the system of the Republic of Serbia and is in line with the signed and valid Brussels agreements of 2013 and 2015, guaranteed by the European Union. Therefore, there is not a single legal basis for Kurti’s dirty intentions to seize our healthcare institutions. I want to tell our doctors, medical and non-medical staff that we will not allow anyone to endanger their jobs and livelihood,” Loncar stated.
Loncar notes that he has informed the European Commissioner for Health, Oliver Várhelyi, and the Director of the World Health Organization for Europe, Hans Kluge, about Kurti’s violent actions and attempts to use long guns to take over and destabilize the Serbian healthcare system in Kosovo.
“Our healthcare institutions in Kosovo and Metohija function flawlessly in relation to the difficult conditions on the ground and provide medical services equally to everyone—both Serbs and Albanians,” Loncar added.
