Lucic for Kosovo Online: I will use all legal remedies to challenge Pristina's decision

Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic told Kosovo Online that he has not yet been officially notified of the decision by Kosovo's Ministry of Internal Affairs to declare him persona non grata, but that, if the information is accurate, he will use all available legal remedies to challenge the decision.

"I have not yet received any official notification, but if this is true, I deeply regret this decision by the Pristina administration, particularly given that I personally insisted on increasing investment in that territory as much as possible and creating new jobs," Lucic said.

Lucic stated that, in his remarks yesterday, he had said nothing that he had not previously stated regarding the actions of the current administration in Pristina.

"Throughout all these years, I have maintained the same position in my public appearances regarding the conduct of the current administration, and in my latest statements I said nothing new, apart from indisputable facts. I will personally use all available legal remedies to challenge such a decision, which I hope, if the information is accurate, will be withdrawn promptly," Lucic said.

Kosovo's Ministry of Internal Affairs declared Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic persona non grata one day after his visit to the offices of MTS d.o.o. in North Mitrovica.

The decision was signed by acting Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla and prohibits Lucic from entering Kosovo.

The explanation accompanying the decision states that, through his public statements, Lucic expressed views which, according to Kosovo's Ministry of Internal Affairs, were aimed at "directly undermining the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of Kosovo."

During his visit to North Mitrovica yesterday, Lucic announced plans to modernize fixed-line telecommunications infrastructure in Serb-populated areas and construct new company facilities in several municipalities, stressing that Telekom Srbija has no intention of leaving Kosovo.

"I believe that what Telekom Srbija is doing now, continuing to construct new facilities, is important not only for the quality of our services but also as a symbol that we, as a company, have no intention of leaving this territory. On the contrary, we are convinced that at some point we will obtain the licenses necessary to operate throughout Kosovo and Metohija, that we will become the largest operator, and that it will be very difficult to prevent us from doing so," Lucic said during the visit.
