Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci stated to Kosovo Press that, if necessary, the army would also be deployed to the north, but under the current circumstances, such a step has not been required.

Commenting on the security situation in the north, Maqedonci mentioned in a written response that following the Security Council meeting, the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) was engaged in patrolling and securing key points of critical infrastructure.

He stated that hundreds of armed soldiers remained stationed on Saturday at various positions in Obilic and Vucitrn and that, if necessary, armed troops would also be sent to the north.

"Based on the assessments and coordination conducted at the institutional level and with KFOR command, such a step was not deemed necessary under the current circumstances," he said.
