Markovic: Kurti no longer hides his Greater Albanian appetites
Historian Predrag Markovic points out that everything Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti does, including the visit to Tetovo, where messages about the unification of all Albanians and Greater Albanian decor dominated, are the best denials of anti-Serb propaganda.
"Serbia's enemies portray the Albanian attack on Serbia's sovereignty as a defense against the Serbs and the 'Serbian world'. Among other things, the Serbs are accused of not cooperating enough with the international community to find a solution for Kosovo. However, all of this falls apart when we consider North Macedonia. It has made every possible concession to the international community and the Albanians. The Ohrid Agreement allowed the Albanians to completely block the North Macedonian state, but that is obviously not enough for the Albanians," Markovic told Kosovo Online, commenting on Kurti's visit to North Macedonia and the fact that Greater Albanian ideas, symbols, and signs were promoted on that occasion.
According to Markovic, everything that happened in Tetovo shows that "the problem is not in Serbian unrealistic ambitions, but primarily in the Kosovo Albanians, who have appetites for all their neighbors, even for the most peaceful North Macedonia".
Kurti’s visit to Tetovo with the flags of the "Greater Albania" coincided with the 22nd anniversary of the Ohrid Agreement, which, according to Markovic, is no coincidence.
"The coincidence of the date with the anniversary of the Ohrid Agreement, according to which the Albanians in North Macedonia have gained a lot, is another proof of Kurti's insolence and disrespect for his neighbors. And an indication that their appetites for a 'Greater Albania' have not ended, according to Markovic.
The fact that the West calmly observes Greater Albanian aspirations, while reacting harshly to every mention of Serbian interests in the region, Markovic comments:
"If the West has a problem with Serbian stubbornness, why does it allow such abuse of the most obedient state in the Balkans - North Macedonia?"
