Michel: Summit in Tirana important for regional cooperation and bringing the Western Balkans closer to the EU

Charles Michel, President of the European Council, stated upon his arrival in Tirana that the summit within the framework of the Berlin Process, taking place today, was of paramount significance for the Western Balkans, regional cooperation, and getting closer to the EU.

"This summit is of utmost importance for the Western Balkans. It's crucial for regional cooperation and for getting closer to the European Union. We are committed to making enlargement happen as soon as possible," Michel said to the media ahead of the Summit.

He also emphasized the importance of ratifying previously agreed-upon agreements.

"It is essential for working together to bring the Western Balkans even closer to the EU because I am convinced that it is an investment in peace and prosperity," Michel stated.
