Analyst Artan Muhaxhiri does not expect the upcoming meeting in Brussels, as part of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, to lead to resolving any open issues or creating new agreements.

"The current situation does not look promising, there are no indications that anything significant could be agreed upon during the next round of talks," Muhaxhiri told Kosovo Online.

He mentioned that the discussions would likely revolve around old topics that remain unresolved, such as the dinar. Muhaxhiri added that a new issue has also arisen, related to the opening of the bridge on the Ibar River.

He believes the main goal of the new talks is to create the impression that dialogue is ongoing and that something is happening.

"I certainly don't expect major changes or solutions, there are no indications that the conditions for such outcomes exist," Muhaxhiri added.

According to him, neither Kosovo nor Serbia have the willingness to reach significant agreements.

He points out that the rhetoric on this issue in public discourse is becoming increasingly harsh and that the leaders themselves do not see this as the right time to reach new agreements.

He also notes that the election campaign in Kosovo has practically started.

"It is not official yet, but there are moves being made that indicate more use of patriotic language and new ideas that politicians use to gain more votes. I believe this harms the dialogue because dialogue is not popular during elections, and any compromises made during this period could be seen as signs of weakness in the leaders," he stated.

Muhaxhiri concluded that the next round of talks in the dialogue will be conducted routinely, with no prospect of solutions or agreements being reached.
