Nastic: Pristina is attempting to expel the few remaining Serbs who have stayed in Kosovo

The parliamentarian of the Alliance " Sarah Wagenknecht", Zaklin Nastic, emphasized that the security situation for the local population in Kosovo had been unstable since 1999 and that the Government in Pristina was attempting to expel the few remaining Serbs who had stayed in Kosovo through daily attacks and the creation of an atmosphere of violence, Adria reports.

Nastic says that she visited Kosovo last year, where she talked to the Serbs, and points out that the situation for minorities such as Serbs and Roma people in Kosovo has significantly worsened in recent years.

She points out that the Brussels Agreement from 2013 has still not been implemented by Pristina, and the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities still does not exist.

"While this year, exactly 25 years after the NATO war against the FR Yugoslavia, which violated international law, Brussels and Berlin are calling on 'both sides' to de-escalate, NATO countries are arming the Kosovo Army, which once again significantly increases tensions and will increase the risk of escalation. I believe that Pristina's actions are extremely worrying, and especially after the decision to ban the Serbian dinar from Kosovo, it is time for the UN Security Council to address the situation," Nastic said.

Commenting on the upcoming session of the Security Council, Nastic says that the fact that this is finally happening is a step in the right direction.

"I hope that this will make the world public aware of the problem in Kosovo and that finally, solutions acceptable to both sides will be sought, instead of taking one side as the EU does. The West unconditionally supports Pristina, increasing pressure on Belgrade to turn to other partners and discuss the Kosovo issue in New York instead of Brussels," she adds.

According to her, this shows how Western policy of collapse in the Balkans is increasingly failing.

Symbolic of the "values of the West", as she says, is the fact that foreign and security policy based on values is rhetorically praised, while in reality, an aggressive policy of escalation is pursued in Kosovo and around the world.

Speaking about Germany's current attitude towards Serbia, Nastic said it was an extension of aggressive US policy.

"In my opinion, comprehensive support for Pristina from the collective West and constant criticism of Serbia's relations with Russia and China are the wrong approach. The EU perspective of the Western Balkans largely depends on Germany's stance, which declaratively advocates for the entry of the entire region into the EU, but in recent years has done little concrete for such a scenario," Nastic said, among other things.
