Honorary Consul of Serbia in Israel, Aleksandar Nikolic, stated that the media in that country immediately reported on the terrorist attack in Belgrade and that the political, economic, and academic public have full confidence and high regard for Serbia's security sector, as well as for the heroic act of Gendarme Milos Jevremovic.

"In all conversations with local political, economic, academic, and media circles, there is a clear impression of high respect for our country's security sector, which was truly demonstrated by the heroic act of 34-year-old Milos Jevremovic," Nikolic said to Kosovo Online.

He mentioned that former Israeli Defense and Foreign Minister, Member of Parliament Avigdor Lieberman, conveyed to him that Israel has full confidence in Serbian security forces.

"I had the opportunity yesterday to speak with Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of the 'Israel Our Home' party, a proven friend of our country and our people, who has served as Minister of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Finance, and other portfolios. He genuinely reflected the local perception and attitude, which is one of full confidence in our security forces," Nikolic said.

He added that Lieberman emphasized that Serbia is a country of proven high readiness and preparedness in all spheres of security and safety.

Nikolic noted that Saturday was a non-working day in Israel—Shabbat, but leading media quickly began reporting the first information from Belgrade.

"Around 2 PM local time, just about two hours after the attack, which is understandable given that it was Shabbat, the most popular media portals in Hebrew, primarily Ynet Maariv, as well as TV channels, began reporting on the attack in front of the Israeli embassy in our capital," Nikolic said.

He explained that the media quoted Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and the Israeli Ambassador to Belgrade, Yahel Vilan.

"Details provided by Interior Minister Ivica Dacic about the nature of the attack, its categorization, and emerging specifics were reported. The statements of Israeli Ambassador to Belgrade, Yahel Vilan, who primarily wished a full and speedy recovery to Milos Jevremovic, a member of our gendarmerie, were also conveyed. After the end of Shabbat, in the evening hours, between 9 and 10 PM, reports from traditional media outlets that do not broadcast on Shabbat began to appear more frequently, containing similar content," Nikolic noted.
