Nikolic: Turkey has given Kurti a bomb he only needs to activate

The Chairwoman of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Danijela Nikolic, stated this evening that by delivering drones to Kosovo, Turkey is strengthening its position in the Balkans but also warned that, in doing so, it has practically handed over a bomb that Albin Kurti only needs to activate.

“It is clear that this is a political stake and an attempt by Turkey to reinforce its position in the Balkans. They have given a bomb that Albin Kurti only needs to activate, despite all the appeals and the wish to live peacefully in the Balkans,” Nikolic said for TV Prva.

She pointed out that this is yet another example showing that major powers do not respect UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which was supposed to disarm the KLA.

“This is no longer the Kosovo army but the KSF, which aims to transform into the Kosovo army by 2028. All major powers are acting contrary to Resolution 1244. KFOR has its role in Kosovo and Metohija, guaranteed by that resolution and the Kumanovo Agreement, but unfortunately, those who came to Kosovo and Metohija to enforce Resolution 1244 are now arming the terrorists. Because the KSF’s predecessor was the KLA,” Nikolic emphasized.

Agreeing with President Vucic’s assessment that this represents a “return of the Ottoman Empire,” Nikolic stated that what is happening is a conflict among major powers.

“Turkey’s influence in the Balkans is neither accidental nor spontaneous, and I believe it is linked to other global hotspots aiming to reduce U.S. influence, at least in this part of the world,” she added.

Serbia, she stressed, although small, serves as a bridge between East and West and respects the UN Charter, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of other countries—while demanding that others respect its territorial integrity and the UN Charter, which, as she noted, should be the ‘Holy Scripture for all.’
However, she observed that global interests today outweigh resolutions, charters, international law, and justice.

“Turkey has its own interest, which dominates the Balkans—to push America out of the region in the coming period,” Nikolic added.

She particularly emphasized that such actions, like the delivery of drones, instill fear among Serbs in Kosovo.

“You are handing 1,000 drones to an arsonist. In 2023, when General Özkan Ulutaş was at the head of KFOR—which he is again now—Kosovo received howitzers and mortars from Turkey… all of it in the hands of terrorists. That cannot be a guarantee of peace or safety for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija,” the Committee Chair warned.

She noted that support from the Serbian state to Serbs in Kosovo remains constant and daily.

“We are not rattling weapons; we want to preserve peace and protect our people. Pristina doesn’t want dialogue—it wants war and conflict,” Nikolic said.

She added that this confirms Albin Kurti is not acting independently, since, as she stated, if he were—things would be different.

“Our policy is peace. We want peace, not wars. Serbia showed on September 20 how strong it is, but I think in this case, we should not be the ones rattling weapons. We always call for peace and dialogue. There are those who want to ignite the Balkans for their own interests; the political stakes in the Balkans are very high,” Nikolic said.

Today, 1,000 “Sky Dagger 15” kamikaze drones arrived in Kosovo from Turkey.
