Nurellari: The situation is concerning, isolation has just begun
Adri Nurellari, a member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), has stated that the situation is concerning after the European Union imposed sanctions on Kosovo for its failure to take steps towards de-escalating the situation in the north, as reported by Teve 1.
According to Nurellari, it is not just about the sanctions or a single name but rather about the relations of the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union with Kosovo.
"The isolation has only just begun when it comes to the countries that contributed to the creation of the state of Kosovo. Alongside Russia, Belarus, and Republika Srpska led by Milorad Dodik, Kosovo is the only aggressively sanctioned country in Europe," Nurellari said.
He added that everything happening is not coincidental but rather a continuation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti's policy, who, as he stated, always goes to the edge and then withdraws.
According to his opinion, the worst scenario for Kosovo would be for KFOR to return to a different status, with activities that exceeded the Kosovo constitution, that is, to return to the period before the declaration of independence, when that Mission also took over police duties.
"That would no longer be in line with what the Constitution of Kosovo envisages, the third level of security, but instead, KFOR would take over patrolling and organizing public order in the north, which would be a violation of the declaration of independence and a failure," Nurellari said.
