Baze: Kurti uses Rama to show his resistance to the West
Journalist and publicist Mero Baze stated that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti refuses to meet with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama because he cannot tolerate the messages from the West that Rama conveys to him, as reported by ABC News.
Baze noted that Kurti perceives the Albanian Prime Minister as a "soldier of the West."
"When Edi Rama invited him to meet regarding the 'Open Balkan' initiative, Kurti declined and stated that they could only meet regarding the Berlin Process. Now, when Rama invites him to meet about that, he says that they can meet only at the meetings of the two governments," Baze stated.
According to Baze, Kurti "harbors hatred" towards Albania and does not forgive the fact that he was "humiliated" in the 2021 elections, receiving only 300 votes.
"In relation to Albania, Albin Kurti has undergone a radical evolution that demonstrates his deceptive political character. He entered politics as a leader for national unity, but today he is a supporter of national non-cooperation. The hatred he harbors towards Albania stems from the fact that he is a populist politician and does not forgive Albania for not voting for him in 2021, but rather somewhat humiliating him," Baze stated.
As he further mentioned, Kurti, in his "delirium of a national leader," believed he would come to power in Albania and now feels that the country has humiliated him.
Baze emphasized that Kurti uses the conflict with the West for victimization.
"I believe that Albin Kurti does not suffer from ambiguity in this story; he suffers from the clarity to exploit this conflict with the West to victimize himself, to become a populist, nationalist leader who will eventually sign all agreements. This will be necessary because the Balkans will not go to war because of Kurti. He will present himself as a victim. He is ready to burn Kosovo for his own seat," Baze said.
