The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that the start of construction work on a Kosovo Police station near the "Jovan Cvijic" school in Zubin Potok was another action by Albin Kurti aimed at escalating tensions, inciting new crises, and endangering the survival of the Serbs in Kosovo.

"The authorities of Albin Kurti continue with escalatory and unilateral actions on a daily basis in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, aiming to raise tensions, provoke new crises, and jeopardize the survival of our people. This latest action is part of a series of actions by Albin Kurti, and it is intended to commence the construction of a Kosovo Police station on the very day of a significant Serbian holiday, Saint Petka, in close proximity to the "Jovan Cvijic" Elementary School in Zubin Potok, and that on land that once belonged to this educational institution," the announcement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated.

As the parents of children attending this school, as well as other residents of Zubin Potok state they are outraged and concerned about the fact that Kurti's police will be in close proximity to the children.

“Furthermore, considering that this same police force, led by Kurti, mistreats and assaults Serbian children, shoots unarmed Serbs, and routinely arrests, intercepts, and harasses the peaceful Serbian population, it is outrageous that they have any business in the northern part of the province according to the agreements, let alone near schools. After the illegal construction of bases in northern Kosovo and Metohija, in Zubin Potok and Leposavic, the construction of a police station near the elementary school is a new blow to peace and an attempt to intimidate the Serbian community, which views Kurti's police as an occupying force,“

They say that a question arises that all representatives of the international community should answer.

"Why did Kurti decide to implement a five-year-old decision and build his police stations near an elementary school right now? Are the images of heavily armed so-called Kosovo Police what our children should see every day and grow up with? Is this normal anywhere in the world except in Kurti's 'democracy'?" they ask from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
