Office for Kosovo and Metohija: The detention of Virijevic is part of the persecution of Serbs, by which Pristina tells they have no right to exist

The one-month detention of Nebojsa Virijevic from Leposavic is another manifestation of the brutality of Kurti's political judiciary, whose task is to stifle all freedom and the right to manifest the political will of the Serbian people in Kosovo, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija has announced this evening.

"Political processes and draconian treatment against members of the Serbian people who stood up in a peaceful and democratic way to defend their basic human rights testify not only to the nature of the social system that Kurti installed, but also to his dangerous intentions," the Office warns in a statement.

They also point out that through the systematic persecution of Serbs, without any basis or coverage, Pristina is telling an entire nation that it has no right to exist, while everything is happening in front of the eyes of international representatives in Kosovo "by whose incomprehensible tolerance for the perpetrators of violence, the violent are actually encouraged to strengthen their action".

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the State of Serbia will continue to fight for the freedom of every Serbian political prisoner in Kurti's casemates and to provide every support to the families of the persecuted.

"Once again, we most resolutely demand from those who have influence on Pristina to prevent the further collapse of the human rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, because Kurti and his henchmen in the police and judiciary, if they are not restrained, will go to the end in terror against the Serbian people", the announcement concludes.
