Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Five Hundred Attacks on Serbs Result of Albin Kurti Regime's Anti-Serb Policy
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija, regarding the attack by a group of Albanians on a twenty-year-old Serb in a parking lot in North Mitrovica, stated that Serbs in Kosovo face impossible living conditions on a daily basis, assessing that ethnically motivated incidents are a direct consequence of the anti-Serb policy pursued by the regime of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti. As stated in the Office for Kosovo and Metohija's announcement, the 500th ethnically motivated incident has been recorded since Kurti came to power.
"Serbs face impossible living conditions on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija on a daily basis, as evidenced by the fact that the 500th ethnically motivated incident has been recorded since Albin Kurti came to power, and all of them are a direct consequence of the anti-Serb policy pursued by his regime in Pristina," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija said.
As added, two nights ago, a group of Albanians attacked twenty-year-old Petar Kostic in a parking lot in North Mitrovica, robbed him, and brutally beat him, thus completing an alarming series of ethnic incidents against Serbs.
All of Kurti's political decisions, it is added, were made only to make life difficult for Serbs in Kosovo.
"Inflammatory rhetoric fuels violence and incidents on the ground, from attacks on Serbs, Serbian Orthodox Church facilities, Serbian property... By, on the one hand, perpetrating institutional violence against Serbs, and on the other, stoking national intolerance that leads to such and similar physical attacks that have been numerous in the past three years, the regime in Pristina aims to carry out a new ethnic cleansing of Serbs from their centuries-old hearths," it is added.
It is emphasized that despite all the challenges, Belgrade will continue to pursue a policy of peace, but persistently and steadfastly demand that each individual incident be clarified and that the perpetrators be prosecuted and adequately punished.
"Only in this way can Serbs be provided with the basic conditions for a peaceful and free life in Kosovo and Metohija," the statement concludes.
