Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Kurti continues with attempts to seize the institutions of the Republic of Serbia; Lajcak has been informed

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia announced that the removal of symbols of the Republic of Serbia and the installation of signs reading "Kosovo" on institutions not funded by Pristina, but which were taking care of the welfare of the socially most vulnerable citizens with funds from the Serbian budget, was another confirmation that the reign of Albin Kurti knew no boundaries.

"In his authoritarian manner, Albin Kurti continues with attempts to extinguish and seize the institutions of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija, and today his targets are the social welfare centers in Leposavic and the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. It is clear that this escalatory move, following the announcement of the ban on dinar transactions, is aimed at intimidating and further disenfranchising the Serbs because Kurti persistently tries to drive the Serbs away from Kosovo and Metohija by starving them and leaving them without means of livelihood," the statement said.

As it is added, Albin Kurti will not succeed in this.

"The mediator in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, has already been informed about the latest act of violence, and soon all other relevant international instances will receive detailed information as well. The Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija who receive salaries or some form of social benefits from their state will not be left at the mercy of Kurti's madness because Serbia is not only obligated to take care of the well-being of its own citizens but is also obliged to defend the very foundations of humanity in its southern province in every available democratic way," the statement from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija reads.

They add that Kurti undermines the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina every day, and denies basic human rights to the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, and it is necessary, before it is too late, to stop his campaign against peace and stability in the region with a sharp and decisive reaction from the international community.
