Office for Kosovo and Metohija: New wave of arrests of Serbs shows Pristina’s desperation

The new wave of arrests of Serbs under false pretenses of war crimes, occurring on the second day of the greatest Orthodox holiday, Easter, demonstrates Pristina’s utter desperation and the anti-Serb agenda of Albin Kurti, who seeks to mask his political failures through attacks on Serbs, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated.
As highlighted in the statement, it is no coincidence that the arrests took place on the very day Kurti once again failed to push through his candidate for President of the Assembly of Kosovo and suffered a political debacle—prompting yet another assault on the Serbs.
“Boban T. from Lipljan, who has lived and worked in the town for 26 years since the conflict, and who was detained today, is a political victim of Kurti’s regime. He lived peacefully in his home until today, when he was detained on false charges. Under similar circumstances, Nadica C. was also detained today. She had been visiting Lipljan for years and never had any issues—until Kurti and Sveçla decided, without evidence, to label her a war criminal,” the Office said.
It was added that both individuals have been immediately provided with legal representation and will receive every type of assistance.
“The Office for Kosovo and Metohija will inform all international missions about this act of political retaliation against Serbs in order to draw attention to this new wave of repression. The outgoing government in Pristina is making its final desperate moves, after which it will ultimately have to admit defeat,” the Office concluded.
