The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced today that the arrest of the young man Stefan S. (27) for wearing a T-shirt featuring Serbian monasteries' motifs showed that Pristina's only policy was a systematic violation of the basic rights and freedoms of the Serbs and that someone must restrain Albin Kurti's efforts to ethnically cleanse Kosovo of the Serbs.

"The only policy being carried out by Pristina's authorities is the systematic violation of the basic rights and freedoms of the Serbs in the province, with the ultimate goal of intimidating and terrorizing them daily to permanently expel them from their centuries-old hearths. The recent arrest of the young Serb, Stefan S. (27), for wearing a T-shirt featuring motifs of Serbian monasteries and a message with motifs of Emperor Dusan serves as evidence," the statement from the Office says.

They add that the police stopped Stefan on the road from Zubin Potok to the village of Drijen, where he lives, detained him, and held him for over two hours at the police station, threatening him with charges of "insulting on a national basis", as they claimed.

"While Kurti's special police shoot at the Serbs, Serbian children, beat Serbian youth, without anyone being held accountable, the Serbs are being arrested and intimidated because of a T-shirt?" the Office for Kosovo and Metohija warns.

This is, they emphasize, the reality in which the Serbs in northern Kosovo live, and the entire international community turns a blind eye to it.

Therefore, they emphasize that the global public and representatives of international organizations must understand the absurd fact that the Serbs in Kosovo are being arbitrarily arrested with no rights or grounds - for posting content on social media and now even for the clothing they wear.

"If the international community genuinely cares about establishing peace in these areas, which Belgrade persistently insists on, then someone must take concrete action to restrain Kurti's efforts to ethnically cleanse Kosovo and Metohija of the Serbs while retaining only his like-minded followers and subordinates," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concludes.
