Opposition: Kurti can no longer procrastinate with the CSM issue

MP of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Albana Bytyqi told for Index Online that Prime Minister Albin Kurti must be careful when it comes to the Community of Serbian Municipalities and that the new draft statute should be in the interest of Kosovo, while MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo Ariana Musliu Shoshi believes that Kurti can avoid the obligation to establish the CSM only if he resigns.

MPs from opposition parties believe that Kurti can no longer delay the issue.

Musliu Shoshi points out that Kurti can "separate" himself from CSM only if he resigns.

"Given that you don't have the option of running away from the thing that you abused for years and that brought you to power, send a proposal with principles. We all support you. So, the Community without executive powers and without violating the unitary character of the state, protecting the constitutionality of Kosovo. Be responsible at least once for the future of our children and the functioning of our country," said Shoshi.

Bytyqi pointed out that the creation of the CSM should be approached carefully, so as not to cause damage to Kosovo.

"Kurti must take this matter very seriously and act with careful steps, because the draft statute of the Community, which was presented in Brussels, is unacceptable and the prime minister must take care that we are not hurt. It is said that Prime Minister Kurti will draft the statute himself. Let's wait let's see what the result will be and what he intends to propose, and I don't think he will prolong this matter since even the prime minister knows that dragging out these situations is not good for us," said Bytyqi.

She does not believe that Kosovo's allies would recommend the CSM that has executive powers.
