Orlic: The formation of the CSM is an obligation that must be realized, and which Pristina avoids in every way
The President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Vladimir Orlic, said during the conversation with the Vice-President of the Bundestag, Aydan Ozoguz, that the process of European integration of Serbia was burdened by the issue of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, stressing that this dialogue was being conducted in very difficult conditions and indicating that the immediate formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities of Pristina was being avoided at all costs.
Orlic thanked Germany for the support it provided to Serbia on its European path and reminded it of the commitment and progress our country had achieved in all areas within the implementation of the reform process, the National Assembly announced.
He emphasized that the European integration of our country remained burdened by the issue of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which was conducted in very difficult conditions.
"The immediate formation of the CSM is an obligation that must be fulfilled, which Pristina avoids in every way, and in recent days it has even intensified dangerous moves and attempts to cause an escalation in order to later use it as an alibi for avoiding its obligations," Orlic pointed out.
The President of the Serbian Parliament stated that Pristina was daily and brutally threatening the Serbs in Kosovo, their elementary security, and their basic rights.
"The Serbs are arrested, sentenced to prison sentences without guilt and without any evidence, armed uniformed thugs are sent to the north of Kosovo and Metohija to harass even mothers with children. The Serbs are denied even the right to speech and opinion, which was unimaginable anywhere in Europe in the 21st century. In such difficult conditions, we responsibly implement the policy of President Aleksandar Vucic, committed to preserving peace and stability for everyone, because we know that without peace there is no progress, and no life in general," Orlic said.
The Vice-President of the Bundestag emphasized the importance of the parliament's control function over the government in a functional democracy, as well as the importance of an open and honest dialogue to preserve peace for everyone in the Western Balkans, emphasizing at the same time the importance of the region for the European Union.
During the meeting, the dynamic economic cooperation between the two countries was welcomed, especially the record results in trade exchange and investment.
The willingness to further strengthen parliamentary cooperation at all levels was highlighted, thereby contributing to the political rapprochement of Serbia and Germany, and the good bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany were confirmed, which are accompanied by intensive political dialogue.
