OSCE: We are not part of the team for drafting the statute of the CSM; ready to help as needed
The OSCE Mission confirmed to Gazeta Express that they were not part of the team for drafting the statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said a week ago that the head of the OSCE Office in Kosovo was part of the Management Team for drafting the Statute of the CSM.
However, the OSCE stated that no representative of this mission was part of the team and that had not participated in any discussion on the drafting of the statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities. Also, the answer adds that they had no invitation to discuss the drafting of any Community Statute after reaching the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia in Ohrid.
"The OSCE mission in Kosovo was not invited to participate in the discussions as a follow-up to the meeting in Ohrid on March 18 for the drafting of the statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities. The mission does not participate in the discussions with the existing leadership of the team, which does not include a representative of the mission," they said in response for Gazeta Express.
However, the OSCE states that they are ready to share experience and expertise for the implementation of relevant dialogue agreements, if necessary.
"Given the long-term cooperation of the mission with all 38 municipalities throughout Kosovo, the mission is in principle ready to share its expertise in the implementation of relevant dialogue agreements, if necessary," the OSCE response concludes.
