Attorney Ljubomir Pantovic, counsel for former police officer Dejan Pantic, told Kosovo Online that he was partially satisfied with the decision of the Kosovo Court of Appeals to reduce Pantic's prison sentence from two years to one year, adding that he would file a request for the protection of legality.

"I am partially satisfied with the Court of Appeals' decision regarding Dejan Pantic, specifically its decision to reduce his sentence from two years to one. I say 'partially' because there was no evidence whatsoever that he was guilty of the offence with which he was charged. The same applies to the defendants Milenkovic and Vlajic, who were also convicted without evidence. Unfortunately, the Kosovo courts persist in convicting defendants despite the absence of evidence supporting their guilt. This judgment is yet another example of that," Pantovic said.

Pantic's lawyer announced that he would file an extraordinary legal remedy—a request for the protection of legality—with the Supreme Court of Kosovo, adding that he expected counsel for Milun Milenkovic and Aleksandar Vlajic to do the same.

"We no longer have the right to appeal, but we do have the right to file an extraordinary legal remedy—a request for the protection of legality—which is submitted to the Supreme Court of Kosovo. I will file such a request, and I believe that the colleagues representing Milenkovic and Vlajic will do the same," Pantovic said.

Earlier today, the Kosovo Court of Appeals in Pristina announced that it had reduced former police officer Dejan Pantic's prison sentence from two years to one year, while dismissing the appeals filed by Milun Milenkovic and Aleksandar Vlajic.

On July 28, 2025, the Basic Court in Pristina sentenced Milun Milenkovic and Aleksandar Vlajic to five years' imprisonment each for the criminal offence of committing a terrorist act. Dejan Pantic was found guilty of the criminal offence of hooliganism and sentenced to two years' imprisonment, while Miomir Vakic was acquitted of all charges.
