The deportation of Protosyncellus Fotije, the abbot of the Devine Vode Monastery near Zvecan, is another senseless act by Pristina that restricts the activities of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija and brutally violates the religious freedoms of the Serbian people, as stated in the statement by the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic.

The statement further notes that "Protosyncellus Fotije, who had regulated his stay in Kosovo and Metohija for years in accordance with Pristina's administrative procedures, was deported to North Macedonia, from where he originates, without any cause or explanation, and this act of violence was not prevented even by international organization representatives who are present."

"The persecution of clergy and attacks on the property and facilities of the Raska-Prizren Eparchy are indicative of the reality in Kosovo and Metohija and confirmation that Albin Kurti's regime is engaged in a kind of total war against everything Serbian. There is no more flagrant confirmation of Kurti's policy's chauvinistic nature than attacks on those whose calling is to preach universal human values and philanthropy. We appeal to the international community to approach the protection of the position and interests of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija with the utmost seriousness, as it represents one of the most significant sources, not only of Serbian but also European culture and Christian tradition," Petkovic emphasizes at the end.
