Petkovic: The danger of a new crisis comes from Pristina and Albin Kurti

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, announced that the danger of a new crisis in the north of Kosovo lurked precisely from Pristina, as well as that all incidents, provocations, and escalation of the situation came only and exclusively from the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.

Petkovic reacted to Kurti's statement that Belgrade was causing the escalation in the north of Kosovo.

"All the incidents, provocations, and escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija come solely and exclusively from Albin Kurti, as the only generator of the crisis in the province, but also in the area of the Western Balkans, which he recently demonstrated in North Macedonia," Petkovic said.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija says that Kurti is trying to cover up the results of his failed policy by creating tensions.

"The danger of a new crisis in the north of Kosovo and Metohija is lurking precisely from Pristina, which by generating tensions in the north is trying to cover up the results of its disastrous policy and there are no spins that can mask the fact that the international community sees it as a source of instability in the north of the province, because of which the punitive measures against Pristina are still in force," Petkovic pointed out.

He stated that the fragile peace in Kosovo resisted and was preserved thanks to the moderation of the Serbs who, as he pointed out, "do not fall for the daily provocations of the regime in Pristina for months".

"They make superhuman efforts to resist all the pressures and moves of Kurti and his levers of power that target the Serbs. His parapolice and special units continue to occupy the north of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as Serbian buildings where his illegal and illegitimate mayors are sitting, who are making moves that directly threaten the life of the Serbs in these areas, arresting the Serbs for uttering words and disagreeing with the occupation's methods, trying at the same time to take away the bare minimum from the Serbs, throw workers out onto the street, leave social cases without help," Petkovic said.

Petkovic added that this was what "Kurti's de-escalation" looked like.

"While in reality he makes friends and embraces criminals and drug dealers and that's why it would be better if he undergoes appropriate tests before every spoken word, because the statements and lability he shows day after day can only be justified by that," Petkovic said.
