Petkovic: Kurti is the biggest threat to the stability of the region and an obstacle to the progress of the normalization process

Albin Kurti confirmed day after day that he personally was the biggest threat to the stability of the region and the biggest obstacle to progress in the process of normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic said.

His stubborn resistance to the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, as well as his constant inventing of excuses for inaction on the issue, he says, is a confirmation of his incurable anti-Serbian chauvinism.

"Kurti's lessons about the self-proclaimed "Kosovo" as a civil society are the ultimate insolence, because his goal is evidently the creation of a mono-ethnic environment on the entire territory of the southern Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija, and we are convinced of this every day by witnessing the oppression he is doing to the Serbs from the moment he became the head of the temporary institutions of self-government," Petkovic pointed out.

The Community of Serb-majority municipalities, he underlines in the statement, must be formed in accordance with the agreements reached within the Brussels dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and adds that if he does not want to make it possible, someone else will make it possible.

"Neither the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, nor the state of Serbia will give up on this request because the establishment of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is not an ordinary political issue, but rather a condition for the physical survival of the Serbs in the southern province," Petkovic said.
