Self-Determination Movement MP Fitore Pacolli said that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities was a trap that Kosovo signed ten years ago, and now they were trying to implement this agreement through the one who opposed it the most, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Koha reports.

She was a guest at the "Interaktiv" show on KTV and said that the Self-Determination Movement opposed and would continue to oppose this agreement.

"We had cases when Kosovo was told to accept and sign the demarcation with Montenegro if it wanted to get visas. The Demarcation Agreement was ratified in the Parliament, over 8,200 hectares of land were lost, natural resources, water resources, tourist areas – and visa liberalization was not obtained," the Self-Determination MP said.

Pacolli pointed out that it was "an injustice and incorrect pressure and justification of the government at the time to make the demarcation."

"Kosovo took several such steps and got nothing in return compared to other states, to the Serbian state. We insist and will continue to insist on showing the international community that we are finding a solution that suits everyone, and not a solution that we initially think will solve the problems but which will lead us into a trap from which we will not know how to get out. We are already in a trap, the trap of the Association. As a reminder, the Association was signed ten years ago by former Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, then after two years by Isa Mustafa, while now they are trying to implement the agreement through Self-Determination, through the prime minister who opposed it the most. We opposed, and we oppose this agreement. And we continue to insist on what we say is right," she said.

We should not have structures that undermine what we have built so far

"Kosovo cannot negotiate with Serbia on reorganization within its territory and do things contrary to its Constitution. We worked to build Kosovo as a multi-ethnic state. Now, when we are at the end of the process of building the state of Kosovo and moving towards the progress of Kosovo's democracy, we should not create a structure that will block us and return us to the position we were in at the beginning. There will be no Association. We as Self-Determination still have that opinion – we are against a single-national association," Pacolli stressed.

She said that international representatives' approach and pressure exerted on Kosovo were unfair. She further added that Kosovo should not be conditioned with the Association on its path toward European integration.

"The European Community and the USA are trying to lead Kosovo and Serbia towards a final solution with mutual recognition, but this is not the way it should be done because the pressure exerted on Kosovo at this moment is not appropriate. The international pressure should be on Serbia," Pacolli said.

She stated that the Government was ready to discuss the rights of non-majority communities, but not the executive ones.

"We have to go back and see how much work has been done to integrate in a profitable way, not only economically for Kosovo, but in a way that leads to a greater approach to coexistence. The mistakes that were made in the past will not be deepened now because we have already tried decentralization. Decentralization separated the Serbs and the Albanians so that they no longer lived together, and that undermined the integration process. Now we must not deepen that division through the association. We have municipalities in the south where Serbs are the majority and are integrated into normal life. We should do the same with municipalities in the north," Pacolli noted.
