Petkovic: Kurti deals fatal blows to the normalization process every day

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti dealt fatal blows every day to the process of normalizing relations with Belgrade with his statements and actions, and he emphasized that despite the stance of all international actors, Kurti was sending a clear message that he had no intention of forming the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Referring to Kurti's recent statement that the Community of Serb Municipalities "would be a fatal blow to the Kosovo Constitution," Petkovic reminded in a press statement that it was precisely the CSM that guaranteed important collective rights and security to the Serbian people in Kosovo.

"After the Berlin Process, the meeting with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the clear words of President Emmanuel Macron, and their joint messages on the importance of returning to dialogue and respecting previous agreements, and ahead of the 'big five' coming, where everyone is calling for the formation of the CSM, Kurti says that it will not happen," Petkovic pointed out.

He noted that Kurti had done something similar last year after the Berlin Process Summit when he unilaterally and unlawfully removed the commander for the northern region, Nenad Djuric, without any basis, contrary to the spirit and letter of the dialogue, thereby violating all the reached agreements.

"That was the prelude to unprecedented violence by Pristina in the northern part of the province. Hence, the question arises: How long will the international community passively observe Kurti undermining the dialogue and obligations undertaken more than ten years ago in Brussels?" Petkovic asked.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija emphasized that "Kurti, as a follower of Adem Demaci and the Greater Albanian idea, has been systematically undermining the normalization process for over two and a half years."

"During this time, he has been obsessively attacking Aleksandar Vucic because Vucic is a man who adheres to the letter of the dialogue and signed agreements, advocates for peace and the normalization of relations, and strongly defends the rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, not allowing Pristina to violate all the reached agreements," Petkovic concluded.
