The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that today's action by the Kosovo police in four northern municipalities will have far-reaching consequences for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, warning that Albin Kurti will not stop until he completes the persecution of Serbs.

"The chaos that Albin Kurti orchestrated today in all four municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija will have far-reaching consequences for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina. It is calculated with the aim of provoking conflicts in the north of the province and escalating the situation further," Petkovic pointed out in a written statement.

He mentioned that heavily armed Kosovo special forces, with armored vehicles and weapons at the ready, stormed four Provisional Authorities in Leposavic, Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan, and Zubin Potok, as well as the hospital compound of the Clinical Hospital Center in Kosovska Mitrovica. They also raided the building housing the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO), the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the Kosovska Mitrovica Administrative District, and the Center for Social Work.

Petkovic emphasized that by doing this, Kurti has initiated the shutdown of all Serbian institutions in the northern province, which, he stresses, are not parallel institutions but the very institutions that should form the basis for the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM).

Considering that the international community has been repeatedly insisting in recent months that Pristina must establish the CSM as soon as possible, Petkovic pointed out that this latest act of brutal violence by Pristina is directly aimed not only against the Serbs but also against the international community.

He noted that these institutions are the "lifeblood" of the survival of the Serbian people in northern Kosovo and that by shutting them down, Kurti aims to extinguish the life of Serbs in the north and carry out final ethnic cleansing.

"These institutions provide Serbs with a minimum of public services and existence, from social benefits to salaries and pensions. This is clear evidence that Kurti does not care about the views of the international community and will not stop until he completes the persecution of Serbs," Petkovic stated.

He also warned that if the Quint countries and the European Union do not stop Kurti's actions, they will become direct accomplices in the persecution and ethnic cleansing of Serbs.
