Petkovic: Orchestrated campaign of lies from Pristina - Kurti, Haxhiu, and Konjufca have no right to say anything

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said today that Albin Kurti, Albulena Haxhiu and Glauk Konjufca are waging an orchestrated campaign of lies and demagoguery in an attempt to score political points by attacking Belgrade and Aleksandar Vucic.

In a statement, Petkovic noted that "general panic and synchronized attacks" against Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic are coming from Pristina today, in an attempt to divert public attention through such rhetoric from the political crisis caused by Albin Kurti.

"The orchestrated campaign of lies and demagoguery jointly put forward today by Albin Kurti, Glauk Konjufca and Albulena Haxhiu is nothing more than a futile attempt to score cheap political points by attacking Belgrade and Vucic. The three of them have no right to say anything because they are usurpers of positions in the so-called executive government in Pristina and have no legitimacy whatsoever, nor do their words and assessments carry any weight," Petkovic said.

He said that Kurti is precisely the one taking escalatory steps to the detriment of the Serbian people.

"We have already heard enough of Pristina's false narratives claiming that Belgrade is supposedly destabilizing the situation on the ground, while the facts show that Kurti and his entourage are the ones taking escalatory steps every day to the detriment of the Serbian people, demolishing Serbian property without any court decision, arresting Serbs without cause, and trampling on all the political and institutional rights of our people, which is why the actions of Pristina have been condemned by the entire international community," Petkovic added.

He also noted that whenever Kurti's "seat is wobbling", he "invents reasons to attack Belgrade in order to restore his political standing".

"We saw through that pattern a long time ago," Petkovic concluded.

Kosovo's acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said today that Serbia's military buildup is linked to its "hegemonic goals", while acting Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca said that Serbia "poses a threat to peace" and stability in the region.

Acting President of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's statement regarding the possibility of changing the course of the Ibar River "is a serious concern" for Kosovo and that the matter should be discussed with international partners.
