Petkovic: Vucic will not recognize Kosovo, nor will he allow Kosovo's membership in the UN

The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said tonight that, as long as Aleksandar Vucic is president, Serbia will never recognize Kosovo, nor will it allow Kosovo's membership in the United Nations.

"When we say something, we stick to it, and the citizens know it very well. And, should we fight and talk - of course we should," said Petkovic in the TV show "Takovska 10" on RTS.

Petkovic said that Vucic will also discuss the Franco-German proposal in the Parliament.

"The pressures are great. We will not sit in the assembly to discuss only the situation on the ground. President Vucic is the one who can say more about the proposal and everything that will follow us in the coming months," said Petkovic.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija underlined that the President of Serbia spoke with the "international five officials", who came up with the initiative, without signing or accepting anything, but that he clearly stated what Serbia's red lines are and what will not be accepted.

"You have to talk to the countries, we are talking about the most powerful countries, our partners, where many investors come from," stated Petkovic.

Petkovic also reminded that President Vucic and the government made a decision to activate Resolution 1244 and request the return of the police and army from KFOR.

"It was a historic decision, we stood by our people in Kosovo and Metohija," said Petkovic.
