Petronijevic: Claims of Radoicic's involvement with marijuana labs in northern Kosovo are absolutely untrue

Legal representative Goran Petronijevic denied the claims made by BIRN regarding his client Milan Radoicic's connections to marijuana labs in northern Kosovo.

"In response to the latest mention of my client, Milan Radoicic, by what they call themselves, the media investigative agency BIRN, as his defense attorney in the current proceedings, I am compelled to react. Namely, the association of Mr. Milan Radoicic with various events by BIRN represents an absolute falsehood. This media campaign is obviously calculated to undermine the credibility of Milan Radoicic and his unconditional confession of the events of September 24", Petronijevic stated in a written statement sent to the media.

Petronijevic noted that it was a campaign that benefited everyone working zealously to undermine Serbia, "starting from the Pristina Kurti regime to their sponsors".

"Getting the Serbian public used to the perennial culprit - Milan Radoicic - represents a form of serious and deliberate disinformation with the ultimate goal of criminalizing him personally and everything that Milan Radoicic has done for his compatriots in Kosovo and Metohija", Petronijevic added.

He stated that reporting to the Serbian public in this manner, as BIRN did, went against journalistic codes and was also criminally punishable.

"If someone has information that an individual has committed a criminal offense, then they are obliged to submit it to the competent authorities with all the evidence, rather than arbitrarily and unprofessionally presenting it to the public without any evidence", Petronijevic said, responding to today's BIRN article "Kosovo Police: Milan Radoicic connected to marijuana growers in northern Kosovo", which was reported by some media outlets.

The article states that the Kosovo Police have discovered 11 marijuana cultivation labs in northern Kosovo over the past year and a half, with officers leading these actions claiming that individuals caught in this illegal activity were connected to Milan Radoicic.
