Plenkovic: Within the framework of the Tirana Summit, Serbia-Kosovo relations will also be discussed

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic stated today that on the sidelines of the Berlin Process summit in Tirana, discussions would cover the global situation and the Hamas attack on Israel, as well as the situation in Kosovo, which he expected to be addressed directly by the representatives of Belgrade and Pristina, Ana Brnabic and Albin Kurti.

He emphasized that discussions about good neighborly relations in the region would take place during lunch.

"Kosovo and Serbia will certainly be one of the topics. Their leaders will be present, so we will hear directly from them about the situation. From what I understand, the scenario is to have discussions about good neighborly relations during the working lunch, and that should be the main topic," Plenkovic told reporters.

According to him, global armed conflicts will be among the subjects touched upon by the regional leaders and EU representatives today.

"This year's meeting within the Berlin Process is an opportunity to discuss current events in the region. We will probably comment on the global situation in informal meetings, which includes the terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel. We will also discuss Israel's responses, as it has the right to self-defense but must respect international and humanitarian law. Likewise, we will discuss the situation in the region," Plenkovic noted.

He expressed satisfaction that this year's Summit was being held in Tirana.

"I think it's good. This initiative entered its ninth year, initiated by Angela Merkel in 2014. I believe this is a great occasion to be back in Albania, for the second time in less than a year," Plenkovic emphasized.
