Representatives of the Serb List visit burned printing house; Perovic: They will not intimidate me – We are marching toward victory
Representatives of the Serb List visited today the printing house owned by Milos Perovic, the party’s candidate for mayor of Zubin Potok, which was destroyed in a fire at 4:30 a.m. this morning. On that occasion, they stressed that they remain united in the struggle for survival. Perovic emphasized that the incident would not intimidate him or stop him on the path to victory.
As he stated in a media address, he owes nothing to anyone and has no quarrels with anybody.
“None of my fellow citizens expected that after my candidacy for mayor of Zubin Potok on behalf of the Serb List, such an incident would occur, and the campaign has not even begun. I want to thank my fellow citizens who have supported me throughout this, who have been sending me messages of encouragement all day long via social networks, phone calls, and in person. I also thank my family, who are enduring all of this with me. This act directed at me personally will not stop me. Neither me, nor my party colleagues. We will carry this process through to the end as we intended – to victory,” Perovic said.
The Vice President of the Serb List, Dragisa Milovic, stated that they came today to show support to the Perovic family following the incident, and that they would demand that those responsible be found.
“On behalf of the Serb List, I once again condemn the attack and arson of the property owned by Milos Perovic, our candidate for mayor of Zubin Potok. I understand his emotions, and we ourselves were shaken when we saw the damage and what had happened, but we are here to support him and his family. As he said, the goal is to persevere together on this path, and we all know what that path is – to remain united, to stay and endure on our ancestral land. I am certain that every well-intentioned citizen, and the wider public as well, will condemn this attack and arson, because above all we care about unity, solidarity, and safety for ourselves and our children. We expect everyone – especially the police and EULEX – to get involved, to identify the perpetrators, and bring them to justice. We will continue to provide support, and I am confident that together we will endure on this path, which leads to victory in the local elections,” Milovic stressed.
Milovic added that everything points to a politically motivated attack.
“The investigation will reveal the facts, but all indications suggest a political background, aimed at spreading fear and insecurity, not only for Milos and his family but also for our councilors and candidates for the Assembly of Zubin Potok. I believe this will not intimidate them, because as I said, we are on the right path. Who is disturbed by the Serb List? Those who are not for unity, solidarity, and survival in this area,” Milovic concluded.
