The Serb List: Non-participation in the elections is a consequence of continuous institutional violence against the Serbs
The Serb List announced that their decision not to participate in the upcoming elections was a consequence of continuous institutional violence against the Serbs, and above all, the failure to fulfill the clear demands for which they had left the Kosovo institutions - the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities and the withdrawal of all special forces from the north of Kosovo.
One of the reasons that the Serb List will not participate in the elections is, as they state, depriving the Serbs of all human rights on European soil in the 21st century.
"In the previous two years, the anti-Serb regime of Albin Kurti denied the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija the right to vote in elections and referendums, prohibited vaccination against the coronavirus, and prevented the delivery of medicines and medical supplies, arrested, persecuted, and accused the Serbs without any evidence, and although there is an agreement in Brussels, prevented the use of KM plates in Kosovo and Metohija under the threat of force and thus deprived the Serbs of their right to freedom of movement," the statement said.
As it is added, "the punitive hordes of Kosovo special forces took away the land from the Serbian hosts in Zubin Potok and Leposavic" and had built illegal bases in those municipalities and harassed and shot the Serbs every day, with the applause of Kurti's Minister Svecla.
The Serb List reminds Albin Kurti that since the beginning of the year, Serbian children, Stefan and Milos, have been shot at in Strpce from the official firearms of a member of the KSF, and Miljan Delevic was shot from behind on the Bistrica Bridge.
They point out that incidents in which the Serbs are killed, their property and the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church desecrated are almost daily, and that as a rule there are no arrests, and in cases where they are arrested, as in Strpce, the attackers are not charged with attempted murder but for causing general danger.
As they emphasize, Albin Kurti's "democratic regime" is trying to take away Serbs' right to freedom of speech, and that is why Ivan Todosijevic was sentenced to one year in prison for the words he uttered, and those who call the Serbs the most derogatory names daily, are not even invited to an informative interview.
"To make the matters worse, Mr. Todosijevic has received a summons to serve his sentence, but the verdict for what he was sentenced, has not been delivered yet," the announcement states, emphasizing that Albin Kurti showed his attitude towards the Serbs by appointing loyal Serbs like Nenad Rasic as minister even though he does not have any support from the citizens, not a single member of Parliament in Pristina, as well as by refusing to respect the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the return of land to the Visoki Decani monastery.
"Having all of the above in mind, the Serb List, in accordance with the views of citizens that we have been representing for years, has made a decision not to participate in these elections. The mistrust that the Serbs feel towards Kurti has been sealed by his latest moves," the Serb List stated.
They also note that the official Belgrade has always been a constructive partner and committed to preserving peace in these areas, and they point out that Kurti's accusations against the official Belgrade have no foundation whatsoever.
