Johns Hopkins University Professor Daniel Serwer said that Brussels and Washington did not hide their resentment towards the current Government of Kosovo, but he assessed that the pressure exerted by the West on Pristina was unfair, while the international community treated Serbia mildly.

The Serwer also stated that the dialogue process in the last year had been completely unbalanced, which was why he supported the initiative of parliamentarians from several countries who had requested changes in a letter to the EU, USA, and Great Britain.

"During the last year, the dialogue process was not balanced, therefore I am glad that the US and European parliamentarians expressed their concern on this issue. It is stupid to put pressure on Pristina, while on the other hand, the actions of Belgrade are tolerated, even though there were attacks on the Kosovo Police and members of KFOR, as well as the boycott of the elections in the north. Let's not forget the fact that Serbia mobilized the army at the highest level," Serwer said in an interview for Teve 1.

He states that there is a lack of agreement in Brussels and Washington towards the current Government in Kosovo, hence the harsher approach towards Pristina.

"Neither Brussels nor Washington hid their disgust towards the current Government in Kosovo. It is inexplicable how you can care more about the buildings where the mayors work than about attacks on the police, KFOR, and NATO peacekeeping forces," Serwer stated.
