Serb List Presidency member Igor Simic recalled that on this day in 1999, Tihomir Radic and Silvana Spasic were killed in a mortar attack on the village of Klokot.
On Instagram, Simic shared a post recalling that today marks the anniversary of one of the gravest crimes committed against Serbs in Kosovo following the end of the armed conflict.
"In the evening hours of August 16, 1999, the village of Klokot came under mortar attack from the direction of the neighboring village of Radivojce by KLA terrorists. At a time when peace was supposed to have been secured, the shells claimed two young lives. In addition, six other Serbian residents were seriously wounded. To this day, no one has been held accountable for this criminal act. Serbia remembers those who lost their lives and preserves their memory," the post shared by Simic reads.
