EU spokesman Peter Stano said today that the Union's expectations were clearly formulated in the joint statement of the 27 members and emphasized that the EU's intention was to continue conducting dialogue where it belonged, that is, at the negotiating table, and not in public and in the media.

At the press conference in Brussels, Stano said that the EU members had been very clear about what they expected, as well as about the way to achieve progress in the dialogue.

"Now it is up to both sides, Serbia and Kosovo, to make the greatest efforts to achieve progress," Stano said.

He states that he will not present details at the press conference because the EU does not hold negotiations in public.

He indicates that the EU has an intermediary role in the dialogue and a role to help Serbia and Kosovo reach the necessary compromise that will lead to the normalization of their relations, as mediators.
