Starovic in Washington with US congressmen on strengthening Serbian-US relations
Minister for European Integration Nemanja Starovic spoke today in Washington with Congressman Pat Harrigan of North Carolina and Congressman Robert Aderholt of Alabama, who expressed great interest in further strengthening US-Serbian relations, especially in the context of the upcoming Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.
Congressman Aderholt accepted an invitation to join the Serbian Caucus in the US Congress, of which Congressman Harrigan has already been a member, the ministry announced.
Minister Starovic also met with Ellen Germain, the State Department’s Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues.
“The discussion included an exchange of views on joint efforts in the fight against the growing antisemitism around the world, as well as against the revision and distortion of the history of World War II, which is particularly present in certain countries,” the statement said.
It is added that Starovic, as head of the delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), also held substantive meetings with representatives of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the American Jewish Committee.
