Vlajic: Bozovic was remanded in custody for 30 days
Lawyer Nebojsa Vlajic said that Milovan Bozovic from Zubin Potok, who had been arrested two days ago on the charge of allegedly setting fire to a car in the north of Kosovo, had been remanded in custody for 30 days.
Vlajic said that a session had been held today to decide on the custody proposed by the public prosecutor against the arrested Bozovic.
"At the session, the special prosecutor from Pristina and I, as his defense attorney, were present, and we presented the reasons for and against detention. Of course, as in many cases so far, the court ordered detention for 30 days. In the next 48 hours, I have the right to the appeal, I will submit it," Vlajic stated.
He pointed out that for the umpteenth time without a lot of evidence, without any convincing evidence, detention had been ordered and the defendant was again in a situation where he had to prove his innocence instead of the court proving his guilt.
"You are accusing him of very serious things, for the attempted murder of a police officer in 2019 near Zubin Potok, for causing general danger, for participating in the burning of two cars, and most seriously, for participating in the murder the EULEX police officer, all as a member of an organized group. I demanded that they tell us what kind of group it was, what it was called, and who led it. Not a word was said about it," Vlajic says.
He emphasizes that the case of Bozovic will probably be the first case in the Kosovo judiciary "where a man is charged with organized crime and participation in a group, without knowing which group it is".
The arrest of Bozovic was condemned yesterday by the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, and the Serb List. They pointed out that Albin Kurti did not want peace, dialogue with Serbia, and the formation of the CSM and that was why he was causing incidents throughout Kosovo.
