Vucic: How can they explain that they are protecting their child, Kurti, while Serbs everywhere in the region have to be blamed

Ever since the USA imposed sanctions on the entire leadership of Republic of Srpska and against the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as against the head of the Security Information Agency, things have been getting complicated for us, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has warned tonight.

Vucic told for RTS that these were not simple matters for Serbia, but were complicated both politically and economically, adding that he would present his position on the matter tomorrow.

He emphasized that Serbia had no right and must not give up its support for the Republic of Srpska, no matter what power sought to impose sanctions against members of the Serbian people.

"Well, even if we were the last on earth, we cannot change our people and we will stand by our people," said Vucic.

He underlined that the times when Serbia erected a wall on the Drina River and set up blockades and spoke against the people of Republic of Srpska have passed.

"We have to support each other and we will continue with the projects. In every municipality of Republic of Srpska, Serbia has built, or is building, a kindergarten, a school, a bridge, football, basketball courts, we are renovating a lot of things and you have seen the most modern sports courts and schools in Banja Luka. We gave that money and it's a lot of money," he explained.

When asked about Russia's influence in Serbia, above all in the media mentioned in the text by the German author Martin Kessler, and when asked how much he looked in the direction of Moscow, he repeated that he had never said that he was advocating for the Serbian world and that, above all, he was working on to protect national and state interests through raising the economy of Serbia.

"Then they move into the realm of the irrational, because they have to explain in their campaign why they have to protect their child in Kosovo and Metohija, Albin Kurti, and on the other hand, why Serbs everywhere in the region must be guilty, like the Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since all of them are supposedly small for them, they have to find a big enemy to attack, then there is always an attack against me as the president of Serbia, that is, with Serbia," Vucic pointed out.

He underlined that he was the one who would conduct politics in accordance with the interests of Serbia.

He said he refused to shut down the media because they were on the side of the West or on the side of Russia.

"Our policy is neither one nor the other. Our policy is Serbia. The policy that I lead and the policy that I will lead while I am the President of the Republic, and that is until 2027, is an independent Serbia, which has its own foreign policy goals and it is on the European path, but which will not destroy traditional friendships, no matter what they ask from media workers, no matter what they ask in any other way," he stressed.

He explained that propaganda against Serbia was conducted from false platforms on social networks, where some present themselves as pro-Russian, but in fact are pro-West, and vice versa.

"Then let's understand that it comes from a neighboring country that is a member of NATO. And under the direct influence of some others, it is doing this in order to separate a part of the population that is patriotic and patriotically oriented from the state of Serbia and turn them against them in order to carry out a revolution on the territory of Serbia", pointed out Vucic, adding that it is one of the southern neighbors.

He announced that he would soon talk more about it and that the public would be able to see what tricks they used.
