Vucic: Kosovo and Metohija is Serbia – it was, it is, and it will be
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Kosovo and Metohija is Serbia—it was, it is, and it will be. Speaking at the “United Serbia” rally in Uzice, he thanked the Serbian people in Kosovo and all those who, as he stressed, were enduring Kurti’s terror and the terror of the international community.
“I want us to send them a huge round of applause from here, from heroic Uzice, and tell them that we stand with them and will always stand with them. In case those abroad did not hear me: Kosovo and Metohija is Serbia—it was, it is, and it will be,” Vucic stressed, RTS reported.
Vucic also said that a Serb would not surrender his homeland to those who wanted to occupy and humiliate it, stressing that he would continue to defend and preserve Serbian honor because, as he said, Serbia had nothing greater or more important than its honor.
“And we will not surrender that honor to anyone, no matter how much pressure they put on us and no matter how much they try to bring us down from all manner of foreign quarters. ‘A hard nut is a strange fruit—you cannot crack it, but you will break your teeth on it,’” Vucic said.
He said that he had appealed to the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in The Hague to allow General Ratko Mladic to die in Serbia, adding that this was not the end of what he described as their revenge against the Serbs, since, as he claimed, Hashim Thaci would be acquitted in
The Hague on September 16 of all crimes against Serbs.
He added that the delivery of the verdict against Thaci had been scheduled for September 16 and said that it was no coincidence that the date chosen was the day after Serbs celebrate the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.
“They scheduled the delivery of Hashim Thaci’s verdict for that day, when they will acquit him of all crimes against Serbs in an attempt to humiliate the Serbs and tell us: ‘You Serbs are the only ones to blame for everything that happened in the former Yugoslavia.’ Let them say whatever they want, however they want, in whatever way they want. But we Serbs must keep our heads: peace, stability, and economic progress, because we are the most successful country in Europe in terms of the growth rate,” Vucic said.
